Most semiconductor families start in company-arranged apartments. They're convenient, comfortable, and a solid starting point — but you should understand the trade-offs. If this article reads like an ad for TSMC Villages, it has failed.

- Nearby businesses — Taiwanese restaurants, 85C Bakery, Sharetea, Din Tai Fung (Glendale)
What You Don't Get
- Independence — your social circle is your work circle. Some families feel claustrophobic by month 4.
- Community diversity — residents are almost entirely Taiwanese. If integrating into American life matters to you, this delays it.
- Asian grocery proximity — Lee Lee International is 15-20 minutes away; 99 Ranch is 45 minutes.
- English immersion — you can live entirely in Chinese. That's both a benefit and a limitation.
- Distance from colleagues — you may see your neighbor at the fab and again at home.

Schools near the Villages are in the Deer Valley Unified School District (DVUSD), with significant Taiwanese student enrollment:

When to Move Out
Most families who eventually buy a home leave the Villages after 6-12 months. Suggested timeline:
- Months 2-3: Start exploring Norterra, Tramonto, Anthem, and other neighborhoods on weekends
- Months 4-6: Narrow down to 2-3 candidate neighborhoods
- Month 6+: Begin mortgage preparation (credit score, down payment)
